One of the conditions of existence is accepting that one must leave things behind. Alain Raousts film accompanies two characters caught up in this process: unhurriedly, but inexorably, the film moves towards their necessary confrontation. Aged twenty-five, Anne Verrier has spent seven years in prison for a murder committed when she was a minor. After a year out on licence, although she is now back in society, she has only one goal: to find Jacques Delieu, the father of the boy she killed. She must travel to an isolated Alpine village to brave this encounter. At the end of their bitter duel, an impossible encounter, both have found new resources with which to escape the cage that had imprisoned them.
