\"Today We Live\" is based on a war story by William Faulkner that Howard Hawks turns into one of his classical adventure movies about heroism, passion and faith. “It was again our little love theme of two guys teaming up with each other” Hawks later remembered. “But at the time the production company had no film for Joan Crawford and told us a week before the beginning of the shooting that she would be in the film. So we had to change everything. But the crazy thing was - Crawford really started talking like a man.”
