Modeling the genre of «Western movie», Godard/Gorin systematically anatomize the traditional bourgeoisie movie techniques and content elements, yet the purpose is to expose the oppressive ideology behind these techniques and content. It is also an attack on realism movies including bourgeoisie movie. They made their argument saying if any movie no matter how aggressive its content would be, use the same «language» with bourgeoisie ones, it will oppress the audience as much as the bourgeoisie film.
