Maicol and Bryan are two friends in an isolated village on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua. This summer will mark the end of their childhood and an abrupt journey into adulthood as they start to work in the shark hunting trade. But the trade is disappearing along with the species and the town is short in options, so many of the shark hunters are becoming drug smugglers. Which way will the boys choose? Bryan and Maicol wander around and explore their world. There is the sea, the jungle and maybe a girl. And there is also a crew with a camera. “I see documentary cinema as the ‘poetics of the event’. These poetics emerge from the encounter between the camera and the subjects. The events occur and the camera captures them, then new events arise from the interference of the camera with reality. The camera, as I see it, is never passive. Cinema is action, it is vital, and as such it is forever an act of intervention.” (Alejo Hoijman)
