From the moment he made first plans for production, García Pelayo has always considered VIVIR EN SEVILLA and FRENTE AL MAR one single entity, connected by a very causal relationship: The latter was to become the reflection of the former, in a different light – literally so, as it was shot in spring and the other the following autumn. Whereas VIVIR EN SEVILLA revolves around fidelity, FRENTE AL MAR deals with “controlled infidelity”: during a trip from Sevilla to Chipiona, three couples explore the joys of partner swapping. Unsurprisingly, their erotic journey is filled with lots of casual, complicated, long-lasting, wonderful sex. Even more than sex, however, they engage in talks – about all kinds of subjects: Following the end of Fascism, all community issues can, may, and must be reviewed, from partnership questions to national reform. After all, it is imperative to build a new and better society. Its hesitant optimism lends FRENTE AL MAR an inner radiance that is incredibly rare, infinitely precious – both in life and in film.

In the presence of Gonzalo García Pelayo and Javíer García Pelayo.
