SUMMARY OF THE VIENNALE 2025
October 31, 2025
Dear colleagues and friends of the Viennale,
the 63rd Viennale celebrated its official conclusion on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, with the gala presentation of the film GEU JAYEONI NEGE MWORAGO HANI (WHAT DOES THAT NATURE SAY TO YOU) by Hong Sang-soo. It’s with great pleasure that we look back on almost two weeks of festival events, which were particularly rich in highlights and special moments this year.
The final press kit for the Viennale 2025 is now available for DOWNLOAD HERE. It provides an overview of this year’s festival highlights, audience figures, and the winners of the four film awards presented as part of the Viennale: the Vienna Film Award, the FIPRESCI Prize, the Viennale Standard Audience Jury Award, and the Erste Bank Film Award.
The Viennale has been running from October 16 to 28 in five cinemas across Vienna, showcasing a diverse and international selection of films that once again attracted a wide audience and critical attention.
We thank all media representatives for their excellent cooperation and look forward to the 64th Viennale in 2026!
