Empires of Tin
In 2007, the Viennale invited filmmaker Jem Cohen to create an evening of film with live musical accompaniment. Inspired by the novels of Joseph Roth, whose calssic The Radetzky March examines Austria on the threshold of WWI, Cohen chose to explore parallels between the decline of the Austro-Hungarian empire and modern-day U.S.A.
Good Night, and Good Luck
The DVD contains the George Clooney’s GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK in original language (with and without subtitle) and in the German synchronised version. Moreover, it includes commentaries of George Clooney and Grant Heslov, the background story of the film as well as a message from George Clooney to the guests of the VIENNALE 2005. Information about the persons and dates occurring in the film is summed up in a booklet of 20 pages.
