Sergei Loznitsa



Born 1964 in Baranovichi, Soviet Union, in today's Belarus. Grown up in Kiev. Studied mathematics in Kiev as well as film at the Moscow State Film School (WGIK). Since the mid-nineties, he is making documentary films mainly on the Russian province and the history of the Soviet Union, such as BLOKADA (2005), LETTER (2013). First feature film in 2010 with MY JOY, followed by THE FOG (2012). His works are shown regularly at the Viennale.
