Born 1983 in Leoben, Austria, is an Austrian film director and screenwriter. She studies theatre, film and media studies. Besides her studies she works as an editor and director of short films and short documentaries. From 2012 she studies documentary film directing at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg. She shoots her first feature film DAS UNMÖGLICHE BILD exclusively on 16mm material. Her debut film receives numerous awards, including the German Film Critics' Award. With her second feature film, THE TROUBLE WITH BEING BORN, she wins the Special Jury Prize in the Berlinale section "Encounters" and the "Grand Diagonale Prize for Best Feature" in 2020. Sandra Wollner lives in Berlin.
