The shower scene in PSYCHO where Marion Crane is slaughtered brutally by Norman Bates is one of the most shocking moments of film history. Director Philippe delivers a ninety minute long close-up on those 3 minutes, which revolutionized cinema with 78 shots and 52 cuts. He talks to contemporary witnesses, theorists, experts and actors who explain with expertise how Alfred Hitchcock brought the motion picture from the technicolorful-fifties into a 'darker' time period: „You don't live any longer near the Rockwell family“, says one of the interview partners, „You live near the Manson family“.

In the presence of Alexandre O. Philippe.
