Special Tour at the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna

This year, the KHM is offering a special guided tour of the exhibition "Raphael. Gold & Silk" an exclusive opportunity to explore commonalities that connect artists across time and medium. The KHM's major fall exhibition is dedicated to monumental tapestries by the eminent painter Raphael and his famous series depicting the lives and miracles of the apostles Peter and Paul for the Sistine Chapel in Rome.

Between Canvas and Camera

The artist portrait RICARDO ET LA PEINTURE by Barbet Schroeder weaves together the points of contact between painting and film, work and biography, spirituality and nature in a captivating and multi-layered way. The film is a fascinating and very personal journey into the soul of the Argentine painter Ricardo Cavallo, who has dedicated his life to painting. From Buenos Aires to Paris to the Département Finistère, it invites us to immerse ourselves in the history of painting - and to observe an artist at work "live", as it were: Cavallo paints incessantly, engaging with modesty and humility, to the point of passing on his passion to the children of his village. Buoyed by both Schroeder's and Cavallo's deep understanding of and respect for each other's art form, and reflecting on the symbiotic relationship of art, spirituality and nature, RICARDO ET LA PEINTURE is not simply a film, but an unprecedented visual "conversation" between "canvas and camera," an exploration of the synergy between visual art and cinema - and the power to transcend time and space
