Ali Soozandeh (GER/A 2017)
If you reject the rigorous regulations of the revolutionary regime in Teheran hard sanctions need to be faced. But within the Mullah controlled metropole a parallel society exists which is dominated by sex, drugs and - a bit of - Rock'n'Roll. The movie follows a group of young people who try to find a bit of luck with their audacity of desperation. TEHERAN TABU was shot with the rotoscoping technique where real actors are filmed but the material is painted over afterwards. This abstraction of the animation-like pictures adds an exemplary note to the film - kind of a Brecht'ic lesson 2.0.
