The story of a Mormon's trail led by two horse dealers. The events on the way – the expulsion of the Mormons by the middle-class provincial town inhabitants, the friendly reception of the moving theatre ensemble, the party with the Navaho – can be read as a pleading, rather atypical for this genre, for tolerance and a peaceful togetherness. Only once a character picks up his weapon for self-defense – just to throw it right afterwards in the desert.
