SHIN SUNG-IL IS LOST
An isolated orphanage, the «House of Angels». In a cruel attempt to save money, the director of the orphanage tries to prevent the children in her care from eating. Distorting words from the Bible, she brainwashes the children into believing that God will frown on them whenever they eat. Obediently, the children hold back their appetite until they get to the point where they cant bear their hunger any longer. Is it about North Korea? Political corruption? Or Christian fundamentalism gone haywire? No matter, as the imaginatively satirical tale of these orphans forbidden to eat is leavened by adorably sincere acting by all the children, especially the titular Shin Sung-Il as the only plump child in the establishment.
