SCHWARZ AUF WEISS (PROGRAMM: NEUE KURZFILME AUS ÖSTERREICH)

What is remembered? How is the Shoa remembered? What role do images play in remembrance? This short video addresses these questions in terms of both form and content and it does so by radically depriving the viewer of the pictures that are talked about off-screen. While the head of a photograph archive raises questions on memory, images and history, we are only shown text panels on a black or white screen. The theory behind it: despite being technically reproducible, images are subject to change.
