Vincent is an all-powerful minister with an immense office, secretaries, a limousine and a beautiful wife, Odile, who spends his money all day. Suddenly, the people he has ignored for so long, rise up in protest and force him to step down. Finding himself alone, back in the apartment from his childhood, he rediscovers with his friends the pleasure of having drinks, a taste for music, flirting and the beauty of public gardens. It's the sincerity of these encounters that will allow Vincent to re-experience the sweet joys of life.
