In the presence of Narcisa Hirsch.

COME OUT and TALLER were the first two structural films made in Argentina; perhaps the most personal appropriations of a formalist view of the cinematic language that conjugates accident and geometry from the complexity of the possibilities of audio and image. In a sequence shot, COME OUT at the same time dismounts and reinforces the compositive concept of a sound piece of the same title by Steve Reich. TALLER is a visual journey, also shot in one long take, through the filmmaker’s workspace. With absolute creative freedom, it plays with the contrast of the out-of-field and voiceover narration. Both films work with the idea of reducing the cinematic device to a minimum while amplifying the effect that one small audiovisual gesture can achieve. On a different scale, PATAGONIA and RUMI are films about the search for lyrical images and sequences in Southern Argentina, where landscape and body merge with a sense of contemplative dance, the pure musical visuality of space and movement – meticulous dreamlike postcards that achieve something mystical in their sparse stylization.
