Clash By Night

Fritz Lang
USA 1951, 1952
105 min
V'12

Being a romantic drama without any crime elements, CLASH BY NIGHT is unusual in Lang's oeuvre, although many of Lang's previous films had strong romantic components, such as SCARLET STREET. The drama is structured into two almost equal parts and each is almost a complete drama in its own. The two parts are separated by a year in time. Each section begins with a non-fiction, documentary look at the fishing industry in Monterey, California and then moves on to its dramatic story.
