AM SEE
AT THE LAKE
A disturbing atmosphere in an idyllic countryside. A family stops at a lake to go for a swim. Tension mounts between the parents as the children watch. Filmed in 35mm, Ulrike von Ribbeck's Am See uncovers a catastrophe that does not actually happen on screen. Thus, there is something transient about the images - and at the same time something wonderfully timeless.
This film is part of the special program ]]>The Future of Cinema. Selected works from the German Film and Television Academy Berlin]]> and will be shown in DFFB Programm 3.
